Colby is the BEST!!! So happy to see him tending bar again. Special service from him April 26th, and he didn't even know it was my birthday! Thank you Colby
My friend Karen and I were looking for somewhere interesting to try outside of our usual spots in Sherwood, OR and found Vineyard Bar and Grill in Newberg. The outside looked a little bit like a dive bar but don’t let that stop you from going inside or you might miss out on some great food!! We had Bulboki, a hamburger and fries, bibimbop and ramen. Everything was awesome and the service was exceptional!
Food and service were fantastic. Merce provided us with a wonderful experience!
Ramen was very good. Much better than regular Ramen! Chicken miso was a very fun flavor.
Note: this is a new establishment so any reviews earlier than March 2023 are for the old spot. This review is for the current one.TL;DR: This place is awesome and you should definitely try it out. It has a little something for everyone. We stopped in here with the family expecting Korean BBQ but it's under new ownership. So we jumped in feet first anyway because that's what we do. From eating Wolfgang's steak in Beverly Hills to burgers in the middle of nowhere I review them all.Atmosphere: Fantastic. Great design, sharp and clean, and fits well into the "wine country" vibe of this downtown area.Food: Phenomenal. What we ordered fits into the "bar food" category. However none of this is something you'd find at a dive. Everything was crafted from high quality ingredients, well prepared, and everything had a "twist" to it. It's clear the chef has put an intense focus on everything here to make it exceptional. It was unique in a subtle way that really brought out the flavor. My wife loved the "special recipe" clam chowder and she could easily be one of the most picky clam chowder critics in the country. If clam chowder is your thing, you should try it.Service: The service was incredible. Once walking in we felt like we might be under dressed, because the place looks "fancy". We spontaneously popped in. But the server quickly put as at ease and chatted us up. Very friendly and attentive and made us feel welcome. She wasted no time making sure everything was perfect, and explained our options and the intentions of this new restaurant.Price: The price was in line with what I would expect. It's not as cheap as a greasy dive, but you're not getting low quality dive food or service. It's not so high that you're shocked at the bill. Worth every penny. This restaurant strikes me as a "passion project". The owner is the chef, and he's trying to make a name in a trendy little downtown area with lots of wine tourism. I'm not a wine person so I can't speak to that. However, this restaurant fits the "vibe" perfectly and the attention to detail really pays off for you. I would absolutely recommend this establishment and will return.
You must order the Ramen here, it's the best! There's a little bit of everything food option wise on the menu, so you can't go wrong.Fast and Friendly Service. The food was delicious and hit the spot for lunch.
I ordered the tonkotsu ramen, and it was incredible! It’s a pretty large portion, with a fair amount of pork belly and soft boiled eggs. The service was great. As soon as I sat down, someone was there to take my order. My drink came out right away, and the food came out pretty quickly! Can’t wait to return!
We are locals and we love the food and the experience here! I had the Bulgoki Spicy Pork Bento Box - so flavorful and good. My spouse had the Bibimbap mixed bowl. Also good! Loved talking with the host who told some great stories of the origins of some of the Korean food. Gluten free options as well! We will be coming back.
